46 M. LOA Sailboat Sloop.

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

With classic hull lines on the water line, powerful lines under the water and a so powerful rig and sail too, here is the last concept from “De Blanco, Naval Architecture and Yacht Design” Office. This 46,64 m. (153 ft.) LOA and 8,6 m. (28,2 ft.) beam Sloop wishes to pay tribute to the old “J” Class America’s Cup Sailboats.

I have tried a combination of classic lines in the hull and more modern on the deck and super-structure but with harmony looking for interior natural lighting. For that, the hull sides are plenty of openings for each compartment and on the deck are hatches and openings too, a continuous windscreen surrounds the super-structures.

The cockpit is an enclosed area for protection with ergonomic seats on each side which could be used too for sun baths and for exterior lounges and dining. A hydraulic system allows a part of the floor to be elevated and transformed into a table. Two sliding tempered glass doors - one forward and one aft side-, allow the access to the interior for confidentiality and quick access to the areas of the boat. Each wheel of the double rudder is built with a single S.S. pipe without spokes.

Decks on super-structures can be covered with cushions for sun baths and relaxing.

Under the water a spade rudder and a keel with bulb were designed under NACA design criteria.

The interior is divided in two levels and areas. Main and four gests double cabins – two each side-, are aft. This area can be independent of the rest of the boat by means of doors. The forward cockpit sliding door gives access to a chart table area on the upper side and to the main salon in the middle structure in the lower side. Forward is the galley, crew lounge and dining area and six double cabins for crew.
